Big Ben bingo

Everybody Loves to Play Bingo

Bingo is one of the most popular games of chance today. Its fame stems from the fact that many consider it as one of the easiest games to play. As a matter of fact the game play basically consists of the player marking numbers on the bingo cards. The game of bingo can be learned in no time at all, and unlike many other casino favorites, the game is easy to follow. It can be literally played anywhere: casinos, fundraising events, tournaments, parties or simply at home with your family and friends or go online.

The game bingo originated in Italy where it once was referred as Lotto back in the 1500's. This form of Italian lottery was regularly played on Saturdays. When it was introduced in the United States in the 1920's, the game was originally called Beano, since beans were used to cover the numbers. When one exultant player won and mistakenly called out "bingo", the term stuck and the rest is history.

The basic materials needed to start a bingo game are bingo cards, markers and some form of container to hold the numbered balls. The bingo cards are divided into 25 parts that contain unarranged combination of numbers. Players have their own favorite bingo cards, and will go all the way as to picking the best combination of numbers in a card.

At the start of the game the winning pattern to be formed on the card is announced. The pattern may be a line, two lines, an x, a square or a full house. The caller, the so-called dealer in bingo, picks a random numbered ball from the container. He then reads out the number to everyone. All players who have the announced number on their bingo cards must marked that number off. The picked ball will then be set aside. It takes some strategy to skillfully go over all your bingo cards, search for the number and mark it off. You need to be fast and must be ready at once for the next number.

The same procedure is carried all throughout the game until the first player is able to form the pattern announced at the beginning of each game. Such a player needs to shout the word "Bingo!" to notify the rest of the crowd of the win. It signals the start of a new game. A new pattern will then be provided and the same process applies.
